PRICE — Brook Hill junior Maddie Anthony did a little bit of everything to help lead the Lady Guard past Carlisle 3-0 on Tuesday at Carlisle High School.

Anthony finished with six kills, seven assists, seven digs and two aces as Brook Hill won a close match, 26-24, 32-30 and 25-16 at Carlisle High School. Senior setter Lauren Eden piloted the offense with a team-high 16 assists.

The victory moved Brook Hill to 3-2 for the season.

The hosts did not make it easy with the first two sets needing sudden death to decide. Brook Hill outlasted their hosts 26-24 in the first set and 32-30 in the second set thanks to strong offense from Anthony and senior Kay Kay Smith, who each posted five kills in those first two sets.

The Lady Guard were also a force on defense in the first two sets with senior Megan Priddy posting four stuff blocks to go along with junior Zoe Hayes and senior libero Brianna Young tallying 12 digs apiece. Young finished the match with 16 digs to go along with three kills and two aces with Hayes totaling 15 digs and four kills.

The third set to close it out was more comfortable for the Lady Guard. Brook Hill had just four errant shots in a 25-16 clinching victory with sophomore Morgan Carpenter delivering three of her six kills in the final set.

Brook Hill will next compete in the Eustace Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.
