Lady Guard varsity volleyball went 1-2 on their three-straight road games with two heartbreaking losses at No. 2 Frisco Legacy Christian and Monday at area rival Tyler All Saints.

Brook Hill began strong with a convincing 3-0 win over Brighter Horizons. The Lady Guard cruised to a 25-8, 25-15, 25-18 victory on Thursday in Garland.

The next day, Brook Hill was back in the Metroplex to face off against Legacy Christian, ranked No. 2 in TAPPS 4A.

Led by 18 kills from senior Charlie Niles, 29 digs and 8 aces from junior Brianna Young, six kills from junior Megan Priddy and 19 assists from junior Mia Martinico, the Lady Guard pushed Frisco Legacy Christian to the limit. In the end, Brook Hill fell two points short in a 3-2 loss, 21-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-12 and 18-16.

Brook Hill flew out of the gates in Game 1, winning 25-21 and followed it up with an even more impressive 26-24 victory in Game 2. The Lady Guard totaled 36 kills in the match and were everywhere defensively, finishing with 87 digs as a team.

Legacy Christian rallied back to win the next two games and found a way to deny Brook Hill in the fifth and deciding game.

Two days later and Brook Hill was back on the floor at Tyler All Saints. This time it was the Lady Guard which found themselves down 2-0 and facing must-win situations. Brook Hill was able to take care of Game 3 to force a fourth game, but ultimately fell short, 25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20 Monday at Brookshire Gym.

In the match, Charlie Niles stuffed the stat sheet with 17 kills, 12 digs, 3 aces and 6 assists. Juniors Megan Priddy and Mia Martinico also did a little bit of everything for the Lady Guard. Priddy finished with 2 aces, 4 kills and 2 digs while Martinico tallied 2 aces, 3 kills, 11 assists and 12 digs. Senior Emily Webb and Niles also had 2 solo blocks.

The 1-2 stretch makes Brook Hill 10-9 overall and 5-6 in TAPPS 2-4A with a match against Dallas Shelton set for Tuesday back at home at Herrington Gym.
