Lady Guard fall short at Waco Reicher, 40-30

WACO — Brianna Young scored 10 points and Brook Hill produced 11 steals with AD Kuechle leading the way with four takeaways, but it was not enough to overcome a cold-shooting fourth quarter in a 40-30 loss to Waco Reicher on Tuesday in a non-district girls varsity game.

The Lady Guard led Reicher 22-20 at halftime, but were held to a combined eight points in the second half and were outscored 15-6 in the decisive fourth quarter.

The loss dropped Brook Hill to 1-5 on the season with the Lady Guard going back on the road Friday to compete in the San Antonio Warrior Basketball Tournament.

The Lady Guard open up play in San Antonio against NOVA Home School San Antonio at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
