Lady Guard get two goals apiece from Stair, Carpenter in win over Dallas Christian

MESQUITE — Brook Hill went on the road and grabbed a much-deserved TAPPS Division II District 2 victory Tuesday, defeating Dallas Christian 4-1.

Katherine Stair scored twice for the Lady Guard with Morgan Carpenter also registering a brace with her two goals. Julia Hardiman finished with multiple assists on those goals.

It was the second win this season for Brook Hill over DC and the second time Stair and Carpenter blitzed DC for goals. The Lady Guard took the first meeting 3-1.

In Tuesday’s victory, Coach David Collins credited the defensive play of Morgan Moss, Kyla Cardin, Blessing Kima and Kaitlyn Juarez, along with strong midfield work by Hardiman and Julia Troxell.

Goalkeeper Heather McLarry finished with eight saves for the Lady Guard, which moved to 3-3 in district with the victory.

The Lady Guard will next face Bishop Gorman on Saturday in Tyler. The game is a replay from one that was postponed from Jan. 5.
