Lady Guard goes 6-0 at Whitehouse Tournament

Brook Hill softball enjoyed the Whitehouse Tournament last week with the Lady Guard going 6-0, posting wins over Chapel Hill, Palestine, Pollok Central, Jacksonville, Cross Roads and Winnsboro.

After taking care of business Thursday with a 4-1 win over Chapel Hill and 20-4 runaway over Palestine, the Lady Guard went to work on Saturday in Whitehouse with four more victories.

Lady Guard 9, Pollok Central 8

Brook Hill left it late as the Lady Guard were able to score nine runs in the fourth and fifth innings to rally from an 8-0 deficit and defeat Pollok Central.

Lexi Crenshaw drove in two, highlighted by a home run in the fourth inning. She also got the win in relief after coming on in the third inning.

Lady Guard 5, Jacksonville 4

Brook Hill scored three runs in the first inning and never trailed in an eventual 5-4 win.

Alyssa Duplichain led in the circle and at the plate. In the circle, Dulplichain allowed two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts in six innings. At the plate, Duplichain went 2 for 2 with a double, single and a run scored.

An RBI single by Taylor Schultz and two-run single from Lexi Crenshaw put Brook Hill in front 3-0 in the bottom of the first. Jacksonville pulled to within a run, in the fifth, but Duplichain kept the opposition there for the win.

Lady Guard 5, Cross Roads 4

Brook Hill erased a 4-1 deficit to score four runs in the fifth inning of a 5-4 victory over Cross Roads.

AD Kuechle did her part in the comeback, delivering two doubles and a single while Taylor Schultz grabbed the victory in the circle, fanning five and allowing four runs on seven hits.

Lady Guard 22, Winnsboro 5

Brook Hill exploded for 11 runs in the fourth inning to turn an 11-5 scoreline into a runaway victory. Alyssa Duplichain got the win for Brook Hill in the circle.

The Lady Guard finished with 13 hits and were helped by five Winnsboro errors.
