Brook Hill swept Tyler Bishop Gorman on Tuesday to get over .500 in district with three games remaining in the regular season.

Led by junior Mia Martinico’s 9 kills, the Lady Guard swept Bishop Gorman in three games, 25-10, 25-10, 25-18 at Herrington Gym.

“The girls took care of business against Gorman,” Brook Hill coach Ricky Clements said Tuesday after the win. “We are now gearing up for a big game against Frisco Legacy on Thursday back on our home court.”

Each TAPPS District 2-4A victory moves the Lady Guard closer to a postseason spot. Brook Hill is now 7-6 in district and 12-9 overall.

The Lady Guard stayed on the offensive at the net and behind the service line. Along with Martinico, Brook Hill seniors Megan Priddy and Charlie Niles contributed 7 kills apiece as the Lady Guard finished with 32 kills combined as a team. Sophomore Maddie Anthony finished with a team-high 6 aces as Brook Hill combined for 15 in its victory.

Leading the team defensively was junior Brianna Young with 19 digs and Niles led with 2 stuff blocks.

The match against Frisco Legacy Christian begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Herrington Gymnasium.
