Lady Guard sweep Shelton to even district record

Brook Hill returned home Tuesday after three straight games on the road and returned to the win column with a 3-0 victory over Dallas Shelton at Herrington Gym.

The Lady Guard cruised to victory, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-14.

Brook Hill used a balanced offensive showing from juniors Megan Priddy (5 kills) and Kay Kay Smith (4 kills), and seniors Emily Webb (4 kills) and Charlie Niles (6 kills).

When defense was needed, junior libero Brianna Young (13 digs) and junior setter Mia Martinico (7 digs) provided it, along with solo blocks from Priddy, Smith, Niles and senior Lexi Crenshaw.

With the win, the Lady Guard evened their TAPPS District 2-4A record to 6-6 (11-9 overall). Brook Hill has a week to wait before welcoming another foe to Herrington Gym. The Lady Guard will next face Tyler Bishop T.K. Gorman on Tuesday.
