TYLER — Brook Hill fell behind 2-0 against Grace Community on Thursday in their TAPPS 3-5A opener and was able to grab one game back, but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 25-19, 25-17, 21-25, 27-25 loss.

The Lady Guard (17-7, 0-1) were stymied by 38 hitting errors in the match.

Freshman Katherine Mondrik led the team with eight kills and sophomore Morgan Carpenter had seven kills for the Lady Guard.

Senior Brianna Young delivered a team-high 46 digs with Junior Zoe Hayes adding 23 digs. Junior Maddie Anthony and Mondrik finished with 16 and 15, respectively.

Senior setter Lauren Eden dished out a team-high 15 assists with Anthony finishing with 14 assists to go with a team-leading seven aces.

Brook Hill also lost its JV and JV2 matches at Grace. The Lady Guard JV1 (1-3) lost 25-18, 25-7 and JV2 (1-5) lost 25-14, 25-22.
