PRICE — The Lady Guard survived a late comeback to hang on and defeat Carlisle 49-45 Monday afternoon.

The victory moves the Brook Hill to 4-2 on the season.

Junior Mia Martinico led the way with 17 points with junior Lauren Eden also finishing in double figures with 14. Martinico scored seven from the charity stripe while Eden preferred to do her business from beyond the arc with two 3-pointers.

Junior forward Kay Kay Smith chipped in nine points as Brook Hill led 21-18 at halftime and 37-26 entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Guard controlled the glass 42 rebounds and combined for 17 steals.

Brook Hill will next be in action on Tuesday, December 1 at home against La Poynor. The JV game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity at 6 p.m.
