Middle School is definitely one of the most challenging times in a student’s life! As physical changes collide with education, the three years spent in middle school have the most profound way of maturing students in a way that nothing else can.

This Friday, May 23 at 10:30-12:00, The Brook Hill School celebrated the end of another year marked with lots to remember as we awarded outstanding students for their academic performances and promote our largest class of eighth graders yet to begin their high school journey in the fall. This year’s eighth grade consists of  49 students who will walk across the stage and say good-bye to their middle years.  This eighth grade class is also one of the most academic groups with the largest number of exempted students ever. Students who have earned all A’s will have the top privilege of exempting three exams.

After the ceremony, the promoting class celebrated at an after-party at the home of classmate, Jordan O’Neil, enjoying all kinds of delicious food, cake, and playing volleyball, basketball, swimming, and fishing in the nearby pond. Congratulations Class of 2018 on a wonderful three years and blessings on your next four as you round the corner and head for the finish line!

Our most prestigious awards are the Servant’s Heart Award and the Brook Hill Heart Award. The Servant’s Heart Award goes to the student in the 8th grade with a heart that loves to serve and actively does so in the community. This year, Jacqueline Cloete received the award. The second award, the Brook Hill Heart Award, is given to the male and female student of the 8th grade who most embodies the characteristics that Brook Hill seeks to instill: excellence in education, pursuit of one’s potential, and honoring God through Christ-like character. This year’s recipients were Allie Lake and John Dixon.
