Middle School Medal Madness
On October 7th, Grace Community hosted a cross country meet at South Spring Baptist Church. Brook Hill ran like the wind and there were medals everywhere! Josh Collins flew into the top 15 and Karissa Dahn snagged a top 30 finish as well. Diana Ramirez (high school) also earned a top 15 finish to represent the high school girls.
The first race of the day was the junior high girls, and Hannah Smith (middle school, 3rd picture) used that opportunity to make Brook Hill history. As the final hill of the race approached and the crowd waited in anticipation at the finish line, the first runner to peak the hill was Hannah Smith, with the rest of the runners far behind in the dust. She sprinted towards the finish line and completed the 2 mile race with a time of 13:51, clinching the first ever 1st place for Brook Hill.
The cross country season will wrap up with the District meet for both middle school and high school at Kiepersol in Bullard on October 19th.
