Mrs. Bickerstaff’s class created houses based on the book, My House in the Middle of Town, by Crystal Bowman. Written in rhyme, the author tells the story of a lonely grandma who lived in a dilapidated house. The kids in the town begin to clean up the yard and work on the house. The adults get involved in helping and soon the grandma is not lonely anymore. This book challenges individuals to look around, see others who need help, and show God’s love to them. The reader learns a valuable lesson–we can all make a difference in our communities by loving our neighbors as ourselves. (Mark 13:31)
