This Thursday, students went out across East Texas to serve our surrounding communities. Students volunteered their time to help nursing homes, police officers, parks, pregnancy centers, firemen, non-profits, churches, missionary organizations,  those less fortunate, and many others. It was truly a day where Others Are Served Instead of Self (OASIS). Afterward, our groups ate lunch both in the community and at school

This was also a great way for our students to follow in Christ’s example – for he did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). In the same way, our students set out to not be served, but to serve others.
