Prayer: Praises & Requests

From the desk of Ginger Bell, Director of Family and Alumni Relations:  I received this prayer request on Tuesday.

“I would appreciate prayers for my grandson, Luke. He is 13 months old and began experiencing seizures Monday evening. He had an episode of these back in May that we thought was fever induced. After having an EEG last night at Mother Frances and continuing to have seizures in frequency and duration, the neurologist has determined he has epilepsy and will be transporting him to Cooks Children’s in Fort Worth this afternoon.”

“Please pray for wisdom of the medical staff to be able to pinpoint the medication needed to control the seizures. Pray for peace and rest for my son, Andrew, and his wife, Lindsay (20 weeks pregnant), during this stressful time.”  – Julie Hanks, Brook Hill Registrar and mom of two Brook Hill Alumni.

And now this request has turned into a praise! The doctors at Cook’s Children’s Hospital have determined that Luke does have Epilepsy, but it is a form he will likely grow out of, Benign Myoclonic. The family is so grateful for the prayerful support that has been given and are on their way home!  Please continue to pray for healing for Luke, rest for the whole family, and God’s peace to enfold them.
