Pre-AP Chemistry uses tablets in class
The Pre-AP class started a new unit on gases and their characteristics. Part of that unit is learning the relationships between pressure, volume, and temperature. We utilized a cart of Microsoft Surface tablets in order for the students to be able to run a computer simulation that demonstrates two primary gas laws. Boyle’s Law says that pressure is inversely proportional to volume and Charles’s Law states that temperature is directly proportional to volume. Using the tablets enabled the students to quickly gather data and then construct graphs to get visual feedback and confirmation of these relationships.
