The Brook Hill Middle School kicked off the academic competition season this past week by participating in the Academic Rodeo’s Academic Challenge Quiz.

One eighth grade student, Aaron Nguyen, and five seventh grade students, Kai Glenn, Nathan Hill, Price James, Jackson Locker, and Cam Ryle comprise the Quiz Bowl team.  Congratulations go out to these young men, and their coach, middle school teacher, Danny Loudermilk, as they were successful in winning the preliminary round against All Saints Episcopal.  We wish this group continued success as they prepare for and compete in the January finals.

Academic Challenge Quiz is an exciting, fast-paced contest in quiz bowl format.  Participants are faced with questions from an academic mix of current events, English and literature, fine arts, geography, history, and social science, language and vocabulary, mathematics and science as well as a potpourri category. Teams placing in the final round are eligible for Academic Rodeo Scholarships.
