Second Graders have been studying the ocean. As a culminating lesson, Mrs. Batis brought her scuba gear to school for a lesson to all Second Graders. Students learned the names of the equipment and the uses. Some students tried on the equipment to get a feel of what it would be like. Mrs. Batis shared personal experiences with the students about her diving over the last 30 years. She also shared personal pictures of coral, fish, sea anemones, sponges, sea fans, etc. At the end, the students viewed a 6-minute video that showed life in an ocean.
