Fourth grade students participated in a program called Operation Gratitude. This program sends care packages to deployed and wounded soldiers. After watching a video explaining the origination and meaning of Veteran’s Day, the students wrote letters to the soldiers to be included in the care packages. The letters were very meaningful. One student commented that he had tears in his eyes as he was writing his letter.
