To My International Pen Pal, Across Campus

Students from Mrs. Lowe’s, Mrs. Batis’ and Mrs. Atteberry’s Lower School classes took the time to write letters to the brand new boarding students, here for their first year at Brook Hill.

These 3rd-grade students have been working on these letters for weeks, collecting names, nations and birthdays of the boarding students, carefully crafting their letters, compiling them and then finally delivering them to the Upper School Campus! This is just the first gesture of many to come between these Lower School classes and the Boarding Community.

We are so thankful for the rich global community that we get to be a part of here at Brook Hill! For our young Lower School students who are learning about other countries and their greater community, this connection with our boarding students provides a real-life way to connect places with faces, and to grow in their understanding of the world.

Our encouragement to you this week – pick up a pen and paper and send someone an “old fashioned” piece of snail mail to connect!

Thank you, Mrs. Lowe, Batis, and Ateberry for the tremendous role you each played in making this happen!
