Top-ranked Guard boys soccer team yet to allow a goal in district

Brook Hill boys goalkeeper Josh Jenkins has produced two clean sheets in TAPPS Division II District 2 play, while receiving plenty of offensive help as the Guard have scored a combined 14 goals to begin district with a 3-0 record.

Ranked No. 1 in the state, Brook Hill has flexed its muscles early in the league setup with a 2-0 victory over Tyler Grace Community and 7-0 win over Tyler Bishop Gorman. On Tuesday, Brook Hill blanked Tyler All Saints 5-0.

In the win over Grace, Jenkins posted five saves in net while Brook Hill’s Dalton Findlay found the back of the net twice for two unassisted goals.

In the win over Gorman, Chasca Ortega led the way with four goals. Also finding the target for the Guard were Johannes Wolfram, Rush McLarry and Chidiebere Nechi.

Finishing with assists were Nechi, Mac Rose (2), Winston Hebert and Ortega.

In the win over All Saints, goals were scored by Ortega (4) and Jordan Wyatt with assists from Winston Hebert (2) and Rose. Jenkins produced seven saves for the clean sheet.

The victories moved Brook Hill to 8-1 overall. The Guard next face Sabine in a non-district contest scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Herrington Stadium.
