Volleyball Community Service Project

On Sunday, September 29, 2013 members of the Lady Guard Volleyball team volunteered at the annual special needs picnic held at the Lone Star Convention Center in Tyler. This event is hosted by Trinity Mother Francis and brings together dozens of the local businesses and companies that service East Texas children with special needs. The children and their families are treated to a fun filled afternoon of games, prizes, food, and entertainment specialized just for them. Wearing their All Orange gear, the volleyball volunteers helped children and their families with bracelet making, a magic show, food service and clean up, and lots of smiles!

“We are hoping to come back next year and set up our own booth. On the way home from the event, it was wonderful to hear the girls sharing their experiences from the day and brainstorming about what kind of booth they want to set up next year. I think this was and will be a wonderful opportunity for our volleyball girls to volunteer and make a difference in a very unique way in East Texas,” said Coach Ricky Clements.

Pictured here are some of the Lady Guard Volleyball team at the bracelet making booth. The girls were able to assist children pick out beads and string them on to bracelets.
