Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears

why-mosquitoes-buzz-in-peoples-earsMrs. England and Mrs Ponce’s fourth graders presented Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears during the “Great Book Week” chapel at the Lower school. In the story, Mosquito tells such a ridiculous lie that Iguana plugs up his ears so that he won’t hear any more nonsense from Mosquito. When Iguana covers his ears he does not hear his friend Python’s greeting. Python then thinks Iguana is plotting mischief against him. This sets off a chain of events which causes Mother Owl to not wake the sun. Finally, King Lion discovers the truth, the mosquito is punished, and Mother Owl wakes the sun.  All is well.

God wants us to tell the truth. In Proverbs 19:1 we learn it is “Better to be poor and honest than to be dishonest and a fool”. Students enjoyed bringing this story and lesson to the stage!
