First graders in Mrs. Dahn’s class recently studied about the moon and learned that although the moon appears to change shape in the sky, the changes actually happen because of the moon’s orbit around the earth and how the sun’s light reflects off it. These changes are called phases. Mrs. Dahn taught this concept in a very delicious way by using oreo cookies to demonstrate the phases!
