Earthquake Science Lab

6th grade students in Mrs. Wallace’s science class learned about earthquakes this week. Students built structures in groups of two to see what would survive earthquake conditions, simulated by quickly removing sandpaper out from under the structure. Many of our students were able to build earthquake-resistant structures.  

Boarding Party

Our boarding community took advantage of the early release from school by having a party. We had tournaments for ping-pong & pool while also hanging out and enjoying some karaoke! It wasn’t all fun and games though – we also used the time to go over our handbook and orient our new students this semester.

Pantalones, Calcetines and Vestidos: Learning Spanish through Clothing

Kindergarten students are learning about clothing words in Spanish class. Spanish teacher, Mrs. Partida,  finds creative ways to make learning come alive. These students decided to model the gorro, calcetines, falda, pantalones, and guantes. These kindergarten boys decided to model the vestido, camisa, and pantalones.
