Mr. Rhoads took 17 students and his family to the Mequite Rodeo this past weekend. They enjoyed a real Texas rodeo, many for the first time and even had a special box provided by Tres Smith and Cavendar’s. The students saw calf roping, steer roping, and bull riding. It was a good ol’ Texas Saturday night!

We got pumped to take on California today at our first pep rally of the season! Let’s show these guys what Texas football is all about!
We held our annual Guard Dawg Breakfast this morning. We pair up high school football players with lower school students. Throughout the season, these pairs will wait on the field together, hang out, and spend time with one another. What a great way to connect our students!
Mrs Mattay’s (Erica Eden, Alum), 7th grade humanities class visited the American a Freedom Museum this week to get a taste of Texas history, their primary subject for the year! It was a great introduction and opportunity for our students to see real-life artifacts and be able to associate them with the content they will […]

Mrs. Utz’s Spanish class visited the American Freedom Museum this week to practice their oral Spanish language skills. Using the Vietnam War exhibit, Mrs. Utz set the stage for her story, helping it come to life. After class, students refined their skills by writing their own story about the Vietnam War in Spanish.

Students are getting to know each other while creating Photomontage Self Portraits in Art. We have a lot of new students at Brook Hill this year and about 1/3 of our Art 1 class is comprised of new students. Students started out with “the Top 10 things you should know about me” and then they introduced […]

Thirteen Brook Hill students were introduced as members of the Texas Bank and Trust Student Board of Directors last night at a reception at the bank’s Grande location. The Texas Bank and Trust Student Board is a prestigious program recognizing over 60 outstanding high school seniors from six schools in the community. In the spring […]

We kicked off a new year at our Lower School this morning! We loved seeing our students come back and all the new faces that came with them. This is going to be an incredible year, and we’re so excited to bring new students into our family!

Students and parents enjoyed a “duck hunt” in the Lower School Library during Open House. The object of the game was to find the little ducks hidden all over the library. But the real purpose was to learn about all the sections in the library including different author areas in the fiction section, biographies, nonfiction […]

The first week of school for first grade culminated with a watermelon celebration after studying watermelon properties! Students measured, weighed, and even discovered melons will float! The rain didn’t stop first graders from eating this juicy fruit!

Mrs. Brashier’s class had an incredible first week of school. On the first day of school, the class read First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg. To go with the book (and to get rid of all the jitters that at the beginning of school) students drank Jitter Juice. The second day of second grade, student […]
