Monday, February 19th, Mr. Brown paid third graders a visit in Mrs. Brown’s third grade class. He discussed the use of triangles to create circles. They looked at several geometric designs and then created their own using geoboards and rubber bands. They continued to enjoy creating designs throughout the week.
On Monday, February 26th, students in Mrs. Brown’s third grade class made origami jumping frogs and in the afternoon, enjoyed the sunshine by measuring frog jump heights and lengths using customary and metric measurements. After collecting the data of 10 jumps they were able to average the lengths and heights of their frog jumps.

Last weekend, 6th grader Kurtlee Smith was at a horse judging competition in San Antonio. The team placed 4th out of 47 teams total. Kurtlee placed 10th individually out of 145 kids in the Junior 4H Division. Kurtlee is also a member of the Middle School equestrian club at Brook Hill.
