Our boarding community took advantage of the early release from school by having a party. We had tournaments for ping-pong & pool while also hanging out and enjoying some karaoke! It wasn’t all fun and games though – we also used the time to go over our handbook and orient our new students this semester.

The first Sunday of each month is Shalom at the Rhoads, when students can relax, have some fun and enjoy a small family environment. Chris Yang and Ethan Kim enjoy s’mores while other students play games and hang out with the family.

Pancake Breakfast

October 05, 2013

Instead of the typical Saturday morning brunch, we inaugurated the opening of our new girls’ boarding house with a pancake breakfast! We ate pancakes, sausage, and fruit, hung out, and enjoyed one another’s company in freshly furnished living space. Mr. And Mrs. Albea made over 180 pancakes for our 65 students.

Our students played games, socialized, and, of course, created and consumed their own ice cream creation. With activities, 3 flavors of ice cream, 7 toppings, and 65 students we had the recipe for an enjoyable evening.

OUR HOUSE IS NOW A HOME

September 27, 2013

Walls, windows and floors come alive when just the right furnishings, decor and personal loving touch are added. Kudos to Carrie Langemeier who has done a beautiful job of transforming the girls’ house into a home. Somebody call Southern Living. They’re going to want this place in their next issue.
