Second Grade Hoedown

The second grade “Hoedown” was the culminating event to the second grade study of Texas.  Students showed off their dancing skills along with listening skills, following directions, and left and right directionality.  By the end of the program, Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Brashier even had those parents dancing!

Lower School Fifth Grade Spanish Lesson

Fifth grade Spanish students honored a family member by writing a paragraph totally in Spanish about them.  The paragraph included the person’s occupation, their relationship to the student, clothes they might wear to work, and things they liked about the family member. Fifth graders also brought  pictures from home of their person  to display with each paragraph.

Fifth Grade Classes Visit the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston

Fifth Grade Students along with Mrs. Savage, Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Fritcher, and chaperones, visited the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston. Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Students in Mrs. Haugh’s Kindergarten class participated in St. Patrick’s Day learning activities. Graphing with Lucky Charms cereal was a fun way to apply mathematics skills. Mrs. Newsome and Mrs Haugh wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Library lesson included folktale stories from Ireland. Students followed leprechaun footprints to treasure.

V is for Vegetables!

Prekindergarten teachers, Mrs. Bell and Mrs. Powell, utilize an amazing array of educational tools and opportunities to enhance learning. To teach the letter V, teachers taught students about the importance of eating vegetables.  Students then created vegetable visitors!

Fourth Graders Visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science
